On 08/02/2024 my life changed. I was lost in a chaotic and miserable lifestyle. Everything in my life was gone. I was addicted to meth from the age of eleven. I have been in prison several times. I have had some stretches of abstinence but I was never truly in recovery. There was no way for me to face life without help from substances in my body. I became homeless, hopeless, and alone. Then was blessed enough to find Padre's Place. I had been to treatment before, in and out of prison. But it just never stuck. The day I arrived at Padre's Place I knew it was different. They cared; it was obvious from day one. I felt love at Padre's Place I had never experienced before. This was not the therapeutic community I was used to, this was belonging somewhere. Since being at Padre's Place I have been given the tools I need for long term recovery. I now know that I can live my life free from the misery of addiction. Never could I have done this alone. Padre's Place has given my family and myself a new life that is far more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Thank you, Padre's Place.

Padres Place has offered me a chance to form a sober network with others from outside and in-house meetings throughout the week.  I was able to find a sponsor, begin the 12 steps of recovery, and apply to develop social skills in a community living setting with other members of Padres Place.  I learn responsibility from household chores and discipline in a structured environment.  Padres Place has allowed me to apply the 12 steps in a real-world setting, such as looking for employment and repairing broken relationships. Padres Place has also provided counseling on the core belief systems I formed during my addiction to one-on-one counseling to overcome childhood trauma.

Thank God for this place and the kind people.  I never would have anticipated such a kind and warm reception.  After praying for change for so long, He has led me to a safe place that facilitates positive change, led by men with a powerful love of God and neighbors.

To all the newcomers, I am an addict who has been fighting with drugs off and on for 1 years now.  Padres Place is helping me to develop and use the skills for a drug-free life.  I am challenged to apply the AA 12 steps to my everyday life and fellowship with other addicts like me!

I was giving up on my life. I turned my life over to God and now I have hope. The next day, a man of God's heart came for me and took me to Padres Place. With arms wide open, he helped me understand that God is real and he accepted me as I was. They provided me food and shelter before even receiving any funds for me. I no longer feel so alone and have been drug free. I am grateful to be saved by the grace of God and Padres Place. I have so much gratitude for all God is doing for me and the people he has put in my path!

My life was at a stand still and I was a lost soul with no direction. Since I came to Padres Place, I have been able to stay sober and focused on my recovery. The staff is very helpful and they care about me and my future. I couldn't have taken the first steps towards my new sober life without Padres Place. I am now part of a family.

Padres Place has given me another chance at life. The staff is very caring and helpful with my recovery by showing me how to deal with cravings and urges. They also help me by taking me to counseling and AA meetings. I now feel like I have the tools to cope with any obstacles put in front of me. I look forward to having a long lasting relationship with Padres Place staff and residents.

My personal experience has been very humbling.  It has opened my eyes to see the dangers of alcoholism.  Yes, one can research it online etc. but being able to talk with people in person brings the addiction more to a personal level.  I can honestly say that the program at Padres Place has given me my life back. I would 100% recommend Padres Place for those in need of help.  Thanks to all the staff and the people in the program. Thank my father God for blessing me with the second chance! I pray for future success for the program and those who decide to join, in Jesus name! Amen!

One of the things I like about Padres Place is that the staff is down to earth.  They are always asking how you are doing and if you are alright. What I can tell you, which is a fact, is they care about us here.  They always want to know if they can help when you are going through tough times.  You can always go to the staff and they listen.

It feels like home at Padres Place.  The house is clean, you basically have your own bathroom and shower.  The beds are comfortable and you are breathing fresh air! There are no bugs or roaches running around!  These guys have good heart's and they are here because they really do care. Oh yea... you are not going to starve here as this place will feed you! Real Talk!!

What I loved about Padres Place is that everyone treated me like a human and made my welcome special.  I have done 13 years in the most dangerous prison in the United Statesand I expected this place to be territorial run by superficial addicts and gang members, with staff being oblivious to that fact. I WAS WRONG! It is run by men that want what I want... God, love, recovery and respect.

Padres Place has been a safe haven for me. It is a place God made to give me yet another chance to get closer to Him.

If you are serious about curing your problem with alcohol or drugs there is no better place to do it than with the Padres Place family!

This is not only a place to work on your sobriety, it is a place to work on yourself as a whole as well as strengthen your faith in the Lord.

Padres Place is hands down THE best Harmony Road house!!!

My take about being at Padres Place is its been a journey watching videos to learn about character defects with myself and everyone around me.  Miss Victoria is an awesome counselor as well as a teacher. The men here at the home are pretty good guys! The food is good and we do get to go to the store which is an added plus.  But the fact is we go to church every Sunday and the people there are awesome! Just being sober for this long is AWESOME! It is showing me what I need to do when I get out in the real world.  But for now I am here taking it one day at a time, another day sober.

Padres Place holds a special place in my heart.  When I arrived, I was beaten down by 23 years of alcoholism and my 18-month addiction to Fentanyl.  I lost my job, my integrity, and, unfortunately, the respect of my family. At first things were very difficult. I feared that I had ruined my life and was beyond repair.

Mike and the house managers had other plans for me. They could see things that I was not able to see.  With their experience in teaching me accountability and, most importantly, spiritual guidance.  I had a paradigm shift in my thinking.  Once this happened, I found HOPE.  If anyone is ready to be honest and end their addiction, I would recommend Padres Place.  It has made all the difference for me!
