What We Do

A Program Built on Structure, Accountability, and Support
Daily Structure Men thrive when they have consistency. Our residents follow a clear daily schedule that includes step work, meetings, chores, work readiness, and personal development.
12 Step Framework Residents participate in step workshops, inventory work, sponsor connections, and daily reflection. We emphasize honesty, responsibility, and progress — not perfection.
Safe, Supportive Housing We provide a clean, stable, sober living environment with meals, transportation, and shared responsibility for the home.
Work Readiness & Stability Residents are supported in finding and maintaining employment, building financial responsibility, and preparing for independent living.
Brotherhood & Community Recovery happens in the community. Men encourage one another, hold each other accountable, and celebrate milestones together.

Why This Works

Addiction is not just a lack of willpower—it is a cycle driven by both physical cravings and mental patterns.

Lasting recovery requires more than knowledge. It requires:
• A change in thinking
• A change in behavior
• A new direction in life

Our program is designed to guide that process step-by-step.

Each day follows a structured format - This structure creates consistency, honesty, and progress.

Most residents benefit from completing the full 90 day program. We strongly recommend staying the full duration and then transitioning into a sober living home. This allows you to continue building accountability, structure, and healthy routines while gradually adding life back in — work, relationships, responsibilities, and independence. Recovery takes time, and completing the full process gives you the best foundation for long term sobriety.

No. We welcome anyone who is struggling and looking for a way out. All we ask is that you come with an open heart and a willingness to explore what the Bible says about addiction and recovery. You don't need to "have it all figured out" to start Step 1.

Addiction thrives in isolation and delay. By moving through the first five steps in 30 days, we help you "clear the wreckage" of the past quickly so you can experience the weight being lifted. This intensive phase creates the spiritual momentum needed for long-term transformation.

We focus on the emotional patterns, behaviors, and underlying issues that drive addiction. If you need medical detox or 24/7 clinical supervision for withdrawal, we recommend completing that first. Our program is the “heart work” phase—the part that begins once you’re physically stable and ready to build the mindset, habits, and support system needed to stay sober.

Many men come to Padres Place after trying the 12 Steps on their own and struggling to stay consistent. That doesn’t mean the steps don’t work — it usually means you didn’t have the structure, accountability, or support system needed to make them stick. Our program is designed for exactly that. Here, you’re not working the steps alone. You have: • A daily routine that keeps you grounded • Staff and peers who walk with you through the hard parts • Real accountability • A safe, sober environment • Guidance on how to apply the steps in everyday life Most people don’t “fail” the steps — they just didn’t have the right environment to practice them. Padres Place gives you the structure and support to finally build the habits and foundation that make long term sobriety possible.

Absolutely. While we emphasize "Confession" in Step 5, we adhere to strict confidentiality standards. Your inventory is shared only with a trusted, trained mentor of your choosing, and your personal story remains your own.

Yes. In fact, getting stable employment is an important part of our program. During the first 30 days, residents focus on structure, step work, and getting grounded. After that, men are expected to find a job, maintain a work schedule, and begin building financial responsibility.
We help with job readiness and support you in creating healthy routines that make long term sobriety possible. Work becomes part of your recovery rhythm — not a distraction from it.

A Foundation for Healing and Growth

We help men work through the emotional roots of addiction — the hurt, the habits, and the patterns that keep them stuck. We meet every man right where he is, with compassion and real understanding.

Our leaders have lived this journey too, so the support you receive comes from people who truly get it.

This is a place to rebuild from the inside out, at a pace that’s healthy and sustainable. We focus on personal growth, accountability, and creating the kind of foundation that supports long term sobriety.
