Start Your Recovery Journey With Support That Understands You
Choosing to enter a recovery program is a big step — and we honor that. At Padres Place Recovery, we meet men exactly where they are. No judgment. No pressure. Just real support from people who have lived this journey themselves.
Our admissions process is simple, straightforward, and designed to help you get stable, grounded, and ready for long term change.
Who We Accept
Padres Place Recovery is a residential recovery program for men who:
Are ready to commit to sobriety
Want structure, accountability, and a supportive environment
Are willing to participate in 12 step work
Can live respectfully in a shared home
Have completed detox (if needed) and are medically stable
You don’t need to have everything figured out — you just need to be willing to show up and try.
Before You Apply
Our program focuses on the emotional and behavioral patterns that drive addiction. If you need medical detox or 24/7 clinical supervision for withdrawal, you must complete that first
Once you’re physically stable, we help you do the deeper “heart work” that supports long term sobriety.
What to Expect After You Apply
1. Quick Phone Screening We’ll talk through your situation, answer questions, and make sure the program is a good fit.
2. In Person or Virtual Intake Interview This is a conversation — not a test. We want to understand your needs, your goals, and where you are emotionally.
3. Move In Day
If approved, we’ll schedule your arrival, go over expectations, and help you get settled. Our team—all men in recovery—will walk you through everything you need to know.

What to Bring
You don’t need to show up with much. Bring some clothes, basic hygiene items if you have them, and any approved medications. If you’re short on essentials, we’ll help you get what you need.
We provide all step-by-step materials. What matters most is arriving with an open mind and a readiness to start fresh — and our team, all men in recovery, will be right there with you.

Take Control of Your Future
Each day follows a structured format - This structure creates consistency, honesty, and progress.
Most residents benefit from completing the full 90 day program. We strongly recommend staying the full duration and then transitioning into a sober living home. This allows you to continue building accountability, structure, and healthy routines while gradually adding life back in — work, relationships, responsibilities, and independence. Recovery takes time, and completing the full process gives you the best foundation for long term sobriety.
No. We welcome anyone who is struggling and looking for a way out. All we ask is that you come with an open heart and a willingness to explore what the Bible says about addiction and recovery. You don't need to "have it all figured out" to start Step 1.
Addiction thrives in isolation and delay. By moving through the first five steps in 30 days, we help you "clear the wreckage" of the past quickly so you can experience the weight being lifted. This intensive phase creates the spiritual momentum needed for long-term transformation.
We focus on the emotional patterns, behaviors, and underlying issues that drive addiction. If you need medical detox or 24/7 clinical supervision for withdrawal, we recommend completing that first. Our program is the “heart work” phase—the part that begins once you’re physically stable and ready to build the mindset, habits, and support system needed to stay sober.
Many men come to Padres Place after trying the 12 Steps on their own and struggling to stay consistent. That doesn’t mean the steps don’t work — it usually means you didn’t have the structure, accountability, or support system needed to make them stick. Our program is designed for exactly that. Here, you’re not working the steps alone. You have: • A daily routine that keeps you grounded • Staff and peers who walk with you through the hard parts • Real accountability • A safe, sober environment • Guidance on how to apply the steps in everyday life Most people don’t “fail” the steps — they just didn’t have the right environment to practice them. Padres Place gives you the structure and support to finally build the habits and foundation that make long term sobriety possible.
Absolutely. While we emphasize "Confession" in Step 5, we adhere to strict confidentiality standards. Your inventory is shared only with a trusted, trained mentor of your choosing, and your personal story remains your own.
Yes. In fact, getting stable employment is an important part of our program. During the first 30 days, residents focus on structure, step work, and getting grounded. After that, men are expected to find a job, maintain a work schedule, and begin building financial responsibility.
We help with job readiness and support you in creating healthy routines that make long term sobriety possible. Work becomes part of your recovery rhythm — not a distraction from it.
