Our Statement of Faith

The Spiritual Foundation of Padre’s Place
At Padre’s Place, we believe that recovery is not merely the absence of a substance, but the presence of a New Life in Christ. Our ministry is built upon these core biblical truths:
1. The Word of God
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. It is our "Big Book" and the ultimate guide for life, conduct, and the transformation of the human heart. • (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
2. The Nature of God
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the "Power Greater than ourselves" who created us, loves us, and actively seeks to restore us. • (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19)
3. Jesus Christ: Our Higher Power
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, and in His bodily resurrection. We identify Jesus Christ as the only Power capable of restoring us to sanity and removing our defects of character. • (John 14:6, Acts 4:12)
4. The Condition of Man
We believe that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. We recognize that addiction is a manifestation of the "sin nature"—a broken attempt to fill a spiritual void with earthly substances. Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation and lasting sobriety. • (Romans 3:23), (Titus 3:5)
5. The Power of Confession & Community
We believe that God uses the Body of Christ (the church and the fellowship) to bring healing. We believe in the biblical mandate to confess our sins to one another and to carry each other's burdens. • (James 5:16, Galatians 6:2)
6. New Creation & Purpose
We believe that anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. Our goal is not just "clean time," but a life of purpose, service, and spiritual maturity. We believe God can use our past wreckage to become a message of hope for others still suffering. • (2 Corinthians 5:17, Joel 2:25)

How We Apply This to the 12 Steps

Step 1:
We admit our "flesh" is powerless and our lives are unmanageable without God's grace.
Step 2 - 3:
We believe Jesus is the Christ and surrender our will to His Lordship.
Step 4 - 7:
We allow the Holy Spirit to convict us of sin and transform our character.
Step 8 - 12:
We live out the Great Commission by making amends and carrying the Gospel to other addicts.

Take Control of Your Future

"Transforming lives from the inside out by uniting the proven 12-Step process with the redemptive power of the Gospel."

In a secular program, the "Higher Power" is left to the individual's interpretation. In our program, we identify the Higher Power specifically as Jesus Christ. While we use the same 12-step framework, every step is anchored in Scripture, focusing not just on sobriety, but on a restored relationship with God.

No. We welcome anyone who is struggling and looking for a way out. All we ask is that you come with an open heart and a willingness to explore what the Bible says about addiction and recovery. You don't need to "have it all figured out" to start Step 1.

Addiction thrives in isolation and delay. By moving through the first five steps in 30 days, we help you "clear the wreckage" of the past quickly so you can experience the weight being lifted. This intensive phase creates the spiritual momentum needed for long-term transformation.

We focus on the spiritual and emotional roots of addiction. If you require medical detoxification or 24/7 clinical supervision for withdrawal, we recommend completing that first. Our program is the "Heart-Work" phase that ensures once you are physically clean, you have the spiritual foundation to stay that way.

Many people find that secular steps felt like "homework" or "willpower." When you add the power of the Holy Spirit and the accountability of a faith-based community, the steps change from a self-help tool to a life-giving encounter with God.

Absolutely. While we emphasize "Confession" in Step 5, we adhere to strict confidentiality standards. Your inventory is shared only with a trusted, trained mentor of your choosing, and your personal story remains your own.

Yes. During Week 2, we help you identify a "Step Guide"—someone further along in their walk with Christ who can hear your Step 5 inventory and provide biblical encouragement and accountability.
