Introducing the “House of Hope”: A New Sober Living Home in Henderson County

Athens, TX — Padre’s Place Recovery is proud to announce the opening of its brand-new sober living home, the House of Hope, located in the heart of Athens. This six-bedroom, 3.5-bath home spans an impressive 3,650 square feet of serene, hopeful space, complete with two living areas and a large covered patio—perfect for fostering community and healing. Just steps away from local shops and employment opportunities, the House of Hope offers both stability and convenience.

A Living Tribute, A Fresh Start

The name House of Hope is chosen with deep meaning—it honors three young men who tragically lost their battle with despair and now stands as a beacon of healing for those beginning their recovery journey. It's more than housing—it’s a sanctuary where hope is both spoken and lived.

Why the House of Hope Stands Apart

Sober Living with Structure & Support
Residents benefit from a substance-free environment with a structured daily schedule, accountability guidelines, random urinalysis screenings, mandatory in-house and external recovery meetings, and assigned house responsibilities. The supportive peer environment helps foster accountability and connection.

A Bridge to Independence
Sober living homes like this provide a crucial intermediate stage between intensive treatment and full independence—building daily structure, personal responsibility, and relapse prevention strategies.

How You Can Help: Furnish a Room, Change a Life

To prepare the House of Hope, Padre’s Place is calling on the Athens and Henderson County community to help furnish the home. Through a Room Sponsorship opportunity, donors can:

  • Sponsor one of the rooms (options include one-man, two-man, three-man, or four-man rooms)
  • Receive recognition with signage outside the room they support
  • Provide essential furnishings—everything from twin bed frames and waterproof mattresses to nightstands, linens, lamps, and optional washable rugs

You can also contribute individual items from their curated Amazon wish list, which includes beds, bedding, home goods, and more. Additionally, they welcome donations of gently used or new larger items like couches, dining furniture, refrigerators, and laundry appliances.

Every donation helps create a nurturing environment for men rebuilding their lives—where healing starts with more than just a roof—it starts with hope.

Padre’s Place: One Year, Honest Impact
